Is the Samsung Galaxy J3 good value for money?

| On 23, Jan 2016

If you’re looking for a budget smart phone but don’t want to forfeit all of the benefits you get with some of the high-end phones, than you should definitely consider purchasing the Samsung Galaxy J3. At around £185 it is perfect for mid-range users and budget-oriented purchases – we reckon the Samsung Galaxy J3 is good value for money.

This phone is coming in the LTE version, beside other network technology, so you will be able to enjoy browsing the Internet via 4G/LTE speed.

The Galaxy J3 is coming in the standard display size for today’s smart phones, 5.0 inches which is just enough for mid-range phones in HD resolution of 720*1280 with ~294 ppi pixel density multi touch screen. You can easily enjoy watching movies and viewing photos on the 16M colour display. This is enhanced with Samsung’s built in software for sharper look and brighter colors.

Since this phone was released in November 2015, it is logical to run it on Android v5.1.1 Lollipop. With the addition of its Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor and 1.5 GB RAM memory, the Samsung Galaxy J3 will fly under your fingers. It’s got more than enough memory for daily use, even with apps and games that require more RAM memory.

Going further and looking at internal memory, maybe Samsung could treat us to more than 8 GB of memory… However, since you can get microSD cards up to 128 GB, it’s not too much of a problem. MicroSD cards are pretty cheap these days so you can consider getting at least 64 GB for not too many extra pennies.

Another reason why the Samsung Galaxy J3 is good value for money is because of its camera – actually both of its cameras. The primary camera is strong with 8 MP and the ability to take pictures at 3264 x 2448 pixels as well as to record video files in Full HD resolution, 1080p@30fps (frames per second). If you’re into selfies, then you won’t be disappointed. The secondary camera (front-end) is 5 MP, which is more than enough for great photos and even for video recording or chatting with your family and friends.

The battery juice that is running this J3 is 2.600 mAh, which is more or less standard today. Depending on how much you use your phone throughout the day, it should be enough for one day of average usage.

So, is the Samsung Galaxy J3 good value for money?

We reckon that for a mid-range smart phone the Samsung Galaxy J3 is really good value for money. It gives you a 5.0 inch phone with 1.5 GB of RAM memory, HD Display with FULL HD camera and battery running 2.600 mAh that can handle all your hardware without a problem. It can definitely meet any regular daily needs for the average user.

Have you got the Galaxy J3? Are you hoping to buy one? Either way, share your thoughts with us in comments section below – we’d love to know what you make of it.

just got the j3 on boost mobile great little phone but i have a problem and i think others might have too. I have a galaxy gear s watch and transfered to the j3 from a galaxy s3 the problem lies in when you try to download the sumsung gear app from the playstore it says the samsung gear app is not compatible with your device it is a great phone but can not use all the features of my watch even though the phone met all the required minimums to use. thats my only bug with the phone other than that its amazing for the price.
